Service to the Community

The Law and Memory Processes (LAMP) lab is committed to psychological science in the public interest. Dr. Lampinen has used his expertise in the psychology of eyewitness memory to provide free training to law enforcement on eyewitness identification best practices. Some of these trainings have been funded by a grant from the Laura and John Arnold Foundation. Dr. Lampinen is a certified law enforcement instructor in the state of Arkansas. He has developed and provided live law enforcement training. He has also worked with Arkansas’s Criminal Justice Institute to develop online training on eyewitness identification best practices.  Dr. Lampinen has also acted in an advisory capacity to the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police and has addressed their meetings on eyewitness identification policy.  Dr. Lampinen has also provided continuing legal education for the Arkansas Bar Association and was awarded a “best of CLE” by the Arkansas Bar Association.
